Orient Marine was quick to install a safety management system and, in August 1996, obtained the ISM Document of Compliance (DOC) following an American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) audit. Further, Safety Management Certificates (SMC) have been acquired for all vessels under Orient Marine management. Orient Marine’s quality management system was certified by ABS to the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2000 in July 2005 and for 14001:2004 in November, 2007.
