Orient Marine was early to adopt a safety management system, and in August 1996 obtained the ISM Document of Compliance (DOC) certified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Furthermore, the Safety Management Certificates (SMC) have been acquired for all ships under Orient Marine’s quality management system certified by ABS as meeting the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2000 in July, 2005.
Orieｎt Marine also acquired the ISO14001:2004 standard related to its environmental management system in November, 2007.
