Orient Marine Co., Ltd. was established as an independent company through the separation of ship management, chartering, and operations from Mitsui & Co., Ltd.'s Marine & Offshore Division.
- 2001

Opened the Amsterdam Office as its first overseas base and began chartering/operations targeting European shipping companies.
- 2005

Opened the Singapore branch as an Asian hub and commenced vessel operation/management for bulk carriers and tankers.
- 2006

Opened the European Office in Hamburg, Germany, consolidating the Amsterdam Office to strengthen chartering/operations for European shipping companies.
